Bills, Bills, Bills
Now getting down to business. I am according to all current statistics having a very stereotypical American wedding with a total budget of $25,000. This is the amount provided by my parents who will be hosting the fabulous party. On the side however Mr. FMB and I will be assisting as we can. However as we need to spend close to $4,000 on our tickets to come back to the states for the wedding as well as my visa we will need to be creative in how we can help out.
After sitting down with the FMB parents we worked out an initial plan:
RECEPTION | |
Food/service/tax/tips | $11,300 |
Wedding Cake & Groom's Cake | $785 |
Décor | $400 |
Reception Music | $1,650 |
CEREMONY | |
Location Fee | $500 |
Officiant Donation | $100 |
Ceremony accesories | $50 |
Ceremony Musicians + tips | $800 |
Programs & Ribbon & etc. | $260 |
ATTIRE ETC | |
Gown | $1,000 |
Alterations | $200 |
Brides Shoes | $100 |
Headpiece/veil | $100 |
Hair and Makeup etc | $250 |
OTHERS | |
Photographer | $400 |
Invitations | $500 |
Thank you cards | $50 |
Save the Dates + postage | $100 |
Favors | $400 |
Rehearsal Dinner | $2,100 |
Coordinator | $300 |
Totals | $21,345 |
So we are starting out with a fair amount left over. I am sure this will not be the case when we draw closer to the date.
To keep everything in places FMB parents and I share an active google doc for the budget. Here we record what is an estimated price, actual price and what is already paid by who. This has seemed to work so far.
Did you find your budget expectations realistic? How do you keep track of all those numbers?
